The Muni is a thriving arts centre inspired and led by the people of Pontypridd and RCT. Our mission is to provide a community hub celebrating culture, events, history, learning and a way of life.
The Muni has a diverse and vibrant program of live events including music, theatre, dance and comedy as well as a number of exercise and wellbeing classes such as yoga, tai chi, aerobics, belly dancing and acrobatics.
Our coffee shop and restaurant is spacious and relaxed and is conveniently situated next to the foyer. The café offers vegan and vegetarian meals as well as roast dinners and all-day breakfasts every day. All of our coffee is fairtrade and we have a selection of teas as well as alcoholic and soft drinks available. The café offers afternoon tea after 2pm and is an ideal venue for your children’s party. For more information and opening hours, please check out our Muni Café Page
The venue is available to hire by community groups or the corporate sector for regular classes, conferences, meetings, training events, large-scale events, cinema, parties and weddings. We can also cater for all events and you can work with our fully trained Chef to design exactly what you want for your event. Please click here for some buffet ideas and prices.
The Muni is situated next to the shopping area of Pontypridd, next to the bus station and a short walk from the train station. There is ample and reasonably priced parking directly at the rear or the building and there is a multi-storey car park opposite the bus station.
With registered charity status and a not-for-profit focus, all profits go back into the business to provide the best service possible to the community. The business is governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees who employ an Operational Manager and 10 staff.
The Muni aims to provide a great quality and friendly service to all of its customers.
The Muni is a listed former Wesleyan Church which was renovated in the 1960’s. It comprises a large auditorium, foyer area, changing rooms, a multi-purpose gallery, offices, meeting rooms and coffee shop/restaurant. Space is available to hire for meetings, conferences and live events.
